BBQ with law friends @ Vinay's Condo! - 30th November 2011

Once again we went for a BBQ at Vinay's condo! One thing great is that the guys are so nice to do all the BBQ-ing and all we have to do is sit down, chit-chat and wait for food to come! =) Had a super fun night =)

After the BBQ, we went to Vinay's house and played some Wii. I conclude that I am damn bad at race-car-driving games on the Wii.

Less than 6 hours to 2012!

Been really quite busy the whole of this week! It was so much working at Zouk, X'mas parties/gatherings, catch-up lunches with my dear friends, buying books and watching teevee! Woke up at 3 plus pm today =) HAHA. Somehow I switched off my alarm and continued on sleeping! I think it was probably because I slept at 6 plus am the day before! After work, we actually went to have supper at the Chinese "restaurant two doors away from Spize =) Yays to spontaneous after-work supper outings!

Not much time left to reminiscence about 2011, soon it will be 2012! Hope that 2012 shall be an even better year than 2011 =D

HAPPY NEW YEAR (in advance!)!!

PS. Going to go for the confetti canons again tonight!! =D DO NOT STAND IN FRONT OF OUR CONFETTI CANONS IN VELVET =) Haha.

8th December 2011 (Thursday) - V12 outing!!

At this outing, I have really confirmed that our v12 clique activities consists only of eating + talking. We first had dinner at the Thai restaurant at Shaw Towers...

Then after dinner, we proceeded straight to the ice cream shop beside the Thai restaurant for dessert! Salted caramel!! =)

I'll be back soon! EXCITED =)

Back from Hong Kong!! =) Happily stuffed myself with dim sum for two days straight! Managed to accomplish my Hong Kong mission! =D We also managed to return to Shenzhen by 5pm and went to the tailor at Luohu (some place in Shenzhen with lots of tailors) to collect our tailored stuff! SUPER NICE AND SUPER CHEAP. AHHA. No pictures or anything! Will pinpoint the clothes as I wear them! =D A pair of black office pants is S$28 and a knee-length cheongsam is S$80. Quite okay I guess for stuff that is tailored exactly to your measurements! Also made two tweed jackets =) Shall wear one of the jackets to work on Friday!

It's going to be a super sad weekend because I have to work on Friday, Saturday and Sunday! CHRISTMAS PRESENTS PLEASE! =) Will be working on the whole New Year's Eve weekend too, so I guess that it's the 2nd year in a row that my NYE countdown is spent sitting at the Velvet counter. Last year I remembered that for Christmas Eve, the put fake snow all over Velvet Underground! It was super pretty and all the "snow" kept flying out of Velvet! Haha. Hope they do something similar this year! Will be uploading all the overdue pictures when I get back to Singapore!

On to other stuff, FEBRUARY IS COMING! =D Last year, I made a promise to myself that I will only buy one bag a year. SO IN FEBRUARY 2012, I CAN GET ANOTHER ONE =D SUPER HAPPY.

Chinaland

I've been addicted to a Chinese drama the last few days and I finished all 35 episodes in less than 3 days (I only get to watch it late at night or in the mornings before we go out)! Such an accomplishment =) Haha, plus I only bought the drama series for 8 yuan (S$1.80). Have tailored my cheongsam for Chinese New Year, hope it turns out nice =)

It's really getting cold around here in Shenzhen. When I first got here, I walked around in slippers and it was totally fine, now, I wear boots and stockings and still feel slightly cold. BLEAH.

2nd shot at shopping

The weather forecast for today is apparently 13-18 degrees Celsius. IT MEANS THAT TODAY IS A SHORTS AND SLIPPERS DAY. Haha. When you wear slippers out in Shenzhen, EVERYONE stares at you! Firstly I guess it's weird because it's now winter and everyone is wear some form of boots or covered shoes, second, I suspect Shenzhen people only wear slippers at home to bathe or something. They have obviously no idea what Havianas are and how much my Havianas cost. Tried explaining to my dad's driver on Monday that Singaporeans all wear slippers around but he still thinks that it's really weird.

Regarding shopping, one really sad part is that people here can roughly tell that you are not from China (although you are Chinese) and they adamantly refuse to give you a bigger discount -_- Going to head out soon to find my furry winter coat and some leather boots!

Sorry if you thought I was MIA

I AM CURRENTLY IN SHENZHEN, CHINALAND =) Hence the lack of updates! If you don't already know, China doesn't allow blogger/twitter/facebook hence I haven't blogged since I got here! HOWEVER, there is apparently a miracle in that if you use FB/Twitter using your phone's data roam, IT FREAKING WORKS! Hence, I am still contactable through BBM/Whatsapp/FB/Twitter but for blogger, I have to go through my email and hopes this gets posted up because I can't seem to get into blogger through my BB!

Anyway, Shenzhen is really cold. Much colder than what I originally imagined but not as crazy as Italy. There are times (noon time mostly) when I am only wearing my havianas, a short dress (the kind I normally wear to school and a thin cardigan! Then at night/evening, it's stockings, knee-high boots, same short dress, cardigan and a winter jacket! Super love my winter coat =) I can't really post any pictures till i get back to Singapore there will be no Zoukout/Shenzhen/v12 outing/etc photos. I think by then it will be super backlogged! So today I am spending the whole day by myself because my dad has some visitors today =( I just came back from Dongmen (crazy shopping place) I actually had a headache while there. SUPER LOTS OF PEOPLE, SUPER LOTS OF CLOTHES, SUPER CRAZY. Shall go take an afternoon nap first before heading out in the evening to the nearby shopping centre/village-like place to do some self-exploration! My dad did bring me to the village place yesterday but I didn't get to the slowly explore the whole place and to take pictures! OH, I bought a pair of fluffy angry birds bedroom slippers because the floor is super cold, THINK WINTER. I really think that I am quite brave! MUAHAHA. Today I also took an electric bicycle ride to the mrt station! My dad's condo is a 10 minute walk to the mrt station but there are a lot of people who would wait around the entrance of the condo to offer 3-yuan rides to the station! SUPER CUTE CAN! I forgot to take a picture but I shall do that tmr =) By the way, 5 yuan = S$1. AHAH. Before heading out to Dongmen, I also had my hair washed at the salon at 25 yuan!!! HAHAHAHAH. I am going to get my hair washed at the salon EVERYDAY IN CHINA. Food is incredibly cheap here! Had a whole duck at a restaurant yesterday for just 80 yuan (S$16) and my lunch at a Japanese restaurant (something like Ajisen) was S$8 flat for a huge glass of coke and a bento set!

I shall not rant on anymore because it really is afternoon nap time!! =) Be back soon!

Birthdays!

Angeline's 21st @ Wild Oats (4th December)

Okay this is going to be a post with lots of photos because I think all the photos are so pretty and happy =) The theme for girls was hats + summer dresses!

The birthday girl and me =) I wore my 5.5 inch heels and got to tower over most of the people at the party! HAHA.

Plus Liesel! Liesel and I were both extremely late because we got so terribly lost. Liesel drive around and got lost in Punggol, while I somehow ended up at Seletar Army Camp which is so not near Punggol Park at all!! Was terribly frustrated by then but thank god for google maps!

The over-arching theme of the party was actually Mad-Hatter I think, hence lots of poker cards and stuff around as the decorations!

Sizzler Dinner (4th December)

Right after the party, I went to have dinner with the BF! He bought some Sizzler vouchers so we needed to get down to using them!

This is what I usually order! Garlic butter butterflied prawn! (SEE PICTURE)

Salad section! Super love it because of the croutons! Plus you can add your own sauce and drown your salad leaves! I really dislike it when restaurants serve salad with such skimpy amount of dressing.

Muahaha. See the amount of croutons on everything! The croutons at Sizzler is simply the best! Not to crunchy yet they are flavourful!

Kind of forgot that they always serve a complimentary plate of Cheesy Toast! SUPER YUMMY but you have to eat it while it's hot!

BF's chicken main dish! This is apparently one of the hot favourites in Sizzler.

SIZZLER HAS DECIDED TO BRING BACK SOFT-SERVE VANILLA ICE CREAM. OMG LOVES. For a period of time, they actually changed all the ice cream to frozen yoghurt -_- , which simply could not compare to their normal soft-serve ice cream!! Added lots of rainbow sprinkles =)

I have some more coupons left! ANYONE WANTS TO SIZZLER? I finally went clubbing yesterday =) HAHA. SUPER FUN NIGHT! I didn't puke because I vehemently refused to drink anymore after the champagne and went to hide outside =) Pictures soon! =)
