Bangkok/Phuket Day 5 - 24th May 2012 (Thursday)
A continuation of my Bangkok/Phuket photos! It's so hard to upload the pictures onto blogger as they keep disappearing?!?!?
Phuket Day 2 - Phi Phi Islands, No. 6 Restaurant
So that day, we headed out for our Islands Tour! I think we paid 900 Baht each for the speedboat tour, which was reasonable but apparently was not the cheapest. The driver was supposed to come pick us up at a certain time, but he came almost half an hour earlier?!?! So we actually had to go off without even having breakfast! We only managed to grab a small croissant each before jumping into the minibus. It was a seriously grumpy morning for the four of us.
My waterproof camera pouch that I bought over Ebay so that I can use my own camera to take pictures of the fishes! =D
Starting out the day with drizzling rain!
At the waiting point having some tea while the other people who were also on our tour trickle in.
We were really bored and hungry (we blamed it on our bus driver who came SOOOO EARLY, we were the first of almost 20 buses to arrive, stupid right). Serene and I entertained ourselves with one of the dogs at the waiting point!
This was us when the waves and all were still calm. HAHA. Halfway through, the waves were insane! It ended with a lot of screams. HAAH.
The guy on the left is our tour guide for the day! He's called Sunny. He was a really good guide and so we tipped him quite a lot!! =D He told us that his younger brother died in the tsunami, super sad.
The cliffs/islands when we were approaching Maya Beach! Maya Beach was our first stop for the day and it was quite disappointing. It was clean and I guess the waters were quite clear, etc, but it was a really small stretch of beach and there was nothing there. JUST THE BEACH. Hungry us tried to go find a snack bar but when we found it, it was totally abandoned.
Sherry and I sneaking in a quick snapshot on calmer waters!
Serene and Lili on Maya Beach!
The water was really nice and clean!
Shortly after setting foot on Maya Beach, our guide, Sunny, convinced us that we needed to take a jump shot while in the water. HAHA. We have a multitude of shots showing us preparing to jump (see above) and landing very awkwardly with water splashing (see two pictures down).
Partially successful shot.
Very unglam landing.
Finally a perfect jump shot! =D
This is how Maya Beach looks like from sea!
This was an obligatory photo to prove that we were at Maya Beach. Haha.
This is how crowded Maya Beach is. It is not really worth going unless it is already part of the tour.
We then moved on to Pileh Cave. It not a stop, meaning we didn't go down anywhere. The boat just went very near the cave so that we can look in. If I'm not wrong, Pileh Cave was where the locals used to find birds' nest in.
More random rocks/islands/cliffs.
The next stop was Sunny Bay for snorkeling! I think before this we drove past some Monkey Beach or something where there were lots of monkeys in the trees and they would try to catch the bread that we were throwing to them. Nothing fantastic. It was the same type of monkeys that we have in Pierce Reservoir, etc. Anyway, back to snorkeling, we had to get our gear on! Lifejackets, flippers, headgear! Flippers are seriously so hard to swim in! We abandoned them less than half and hour in. HAHA.
Our flippers! FYI, we had to jump off the top of the boat into the water, and I was sitting on the top of the boat summoning the courage to jump off (it was quite high okay), WHEN THE BOAT PEOPLE PUSHED ME OFF. OMG. Was super shocked but laughed it off! HAHA.
Looking for fishies!
Fishies furiously attacking the bread!
After Sunny Bay, we went off to lunch on another island (no idea which though)! I think it was one of the Khai islands (there are two!)!
Our very last stop was the other Khai Island for more snorkeling and sun tanning!
This island was seriously the best! Ample deck chairs with umbrellas! Each deck chair's rental is 100 Baht I think? Plus there was sooo many food and drink stalls! Had corn on cob with butter and salt! SUPER DAMN NICE! There was also a place to snorkel but it wasn't impressive because there were so many dead coral on the beach that made walking into the water so painful and the fishes were the same variety as Sunny Bay.
We bought the souvenir photos! The top was before we left Phuket Island and the second was at lunch or something like that!
After a much needed bath, we went to the highly recommended NO.6 RESTAURANT! I must say, it was really good and affordable!
I think this was the cashew chicken.
Fishcake!
Battered prawns! We ordered this again the next night!
Glass noodles! I didn't really like this but the rest of them did!
Sweet and sour fish! We were imagining fish fillet but it was a whole fish!
And in my opinion, the best dish in the restaurant, PHAD THAI. We also had this the next day!! =D
Left with one last post! =D

Phuket, we're here!
Bangkok/Phuket Day 4 - 23rd May 2012 (Wednesday)
So after the mad shopping in Bangkok, we left for Phuket!!
The red engine of our Airasia plane! I conclude that Airasia is quite alright except that the seats do not go down much at all. So it's quite uncomfortable if you're trying to sleep on the plane!
While we were waiting to disembark the plane. For our plane to Bangkok, Sherry practically darted "lightning-style" out of the plane leaving the three of us far far behind (we failed to avoid the crowd of people like she did!), and we just stared at her in disbelief! Haha.
Us on our very cool SUV cab because our four luggages couldn't possibly fit into a normal cab! The cab was fixed price at around 850 to 950 baht (can't really remember already)!
Us in our adjoining rooms! We were already wearing our BKK loots!
We had some joke about how this "window" to the bathroom encourages "sexy time". HAHA.
Getting out of our hotel to go explore Phuket! =)
Sherry and Lili attacking the Phad Thai stall right outside our hotel!
Haha, I think this restaurant/pub is quite weird
! It's called Tiger Inn and the interior decorations all are tiger themed!
Serene and I were totally obsessed with the tour stands! There are plenty of this stands all around so we had to bargain all the way for our tours! We were looking for Simon Cabaret tickets for that night, Phi Phi Island tour for the next day and some random thing to do on Friday!
We finally got our Simon Cabaret tickets cheap and got our Phi Phi tour booked.
On the mini bus to watch the Simon Cabaret! They have 2-3 shows a night and we surprisingly managed to catch the early one! (Originally we thought we had to watch the one at 930pm because our flight only reached Phuket around 5pm!)
Lili and Serene!
This photo is here to show those disgusting/lecherous/old chinamen who were leering at us and see the guy in the blue tee! HE WAS FREAKING FILMING US. SERIOUSLY DISGUSTING. We complained to the ushers and they let us move down a few rows.
The show was er so-so. If you don't already know, SImon Cabaret is a cabaret of trannys dancing/lip-syncing. They danced songs of different nationalities/languages; English, Vietnamese, Bollywood, Korean, Chinese, etc. At the end of the show, all of them will stand in a row outside the theatre and you could take pictures with them. BUT YOU HAVE TO GIVE THEM A TIP, IF NOT THEY WILL FIERCELY DEMAND IT FROM YOU.
After the minibus dropped us back to our hotel, we chanced upon a Banana Pancake stall right outside our hotel! Had this weird conversation about how the stall owner was an Indian man (something like our Singapore prata shop man) and not a Thai like all the other stall owners that we see!

Anyway, the method of making Banana Pancakes is very similar to how one would make a roti prata with filling. We ordered the banana + condensed milk pancake and the banana + chocolate sauce pancake! BOTH WERE YUM.

Happy =D
On to other things, I'm finally meeting Tifen for dinner tomorrow! Haven't seen her in ages! Plus I get to go to town again for round 2 of shopping! =)
