Vinay's surprise

So we spend last Sunday evening surprising Vinay for his birthday AGAIN! Haha. I think this is the third time that we are surprising him?!?!? Last year's was epic because 15 people managed to sneak up to right outside his condo unit to shout SURPRISE! This was followed with a super "huh?!?!" face from Vinay and an eye roll.

If you stare close enough, you can sort of see Vinay sitting on the sofa watching tv while his sister, who already saw us, was trying really hard to suppress her giggles.

This year, his sister decided that we should surprise him at a restaurant at ECP. The scheme to bring him there was really elaborate (too lazy to type it out) and insane. HAHA. So, the six of us were already there waiting for Vinay + his sister + his cousins to arrive and when we received confirmation that he had parked his car, hence the six of us decided it would be a good idea to conceal our faces with the menu! HAHA. We looked like idiots and the waiter/other patrons were giving us weird looks but hahah WHO CARES. Our "disguise" so good that he and and his sister both did not even realize that we were sitting just in front of where they were standing! After we shouted surprise, we got more eye rolling from Vinay who was again really shocked because his birthday was 3 days ago? HAAH. I swear that we are awesome friends!

Got pretty pink peonies and white carnations for CNY! It's really rare to see peonies so my mummy and I grabbed them the moment we saw them at Far East Flora. Their cold room has an amazing amount of pretty flowers! Saw lots of tulips but I never really fancied them. I also do not understand why people like those rainbow roses. They just look really weird to me.

My snack drawer at work! Was really stressed at work the other day and somehow put my calculator with my snacks! Then spent really long looking for my calculator and only found it when reached into the drawer for a bite of chocolate! HAHA!

All part of growing up.

I don't know why in the past few months I've been feeling kind of grown up.

I turned 24, an age that now qualifies as mid-twenties.
I went to a friend's kid's 1st birthday party.
I had little kids calling me Auntie during Chinese New Year.
I've started working.
I also have started earning my own money.

All these changes really requires some getting used to.

Slightly more than a Birthday week!

So here it comes around again! I'm now about to hit my 4th 21st Birthday! HAHA. All my friends have very kindly agreed to call it that! It's still scary because I'm not longer in my EARLY TWENTIES but instead it's my MID-TWENTIES. Oh god, when I was younger, mid-twenties sounded soo old. HAHA. Next year, my birthday present to myself will be a bottle of SK-II. HAHA. Have been hearing about the miracles that it can do to your skin, just that once you start, you can never stop using it if not GGXX. So here's how I started off my birthday week!

10th January 2014 (Friday) - Zouk

Spent my Friday night/ Saturday morning at Zouk! Haven't been back there since ages ago! Managed to catch up with some people and it's really nice to be back! So we started off drinking at Wine Bar cause it was Liesel's birthday and all of us could use a drink after the tiring work week! Have been pulling off late nights at the office and even had a few lunches at my desk because I'm trying to finish my pile of work that never seems to lessen. AHHA. But at least now I feel like I'm doing something useful and not like when I was a useless intern!

The 3 of them had soo much energy from drinking and were dancing most of the night! Haha!

11th January 2014 (Saturday)

Spent most of my morning trying to recuperate from the night before and then had went off to Sun Tec with my brother for lunch! We kind of have this thing where we happily go eat/buy whatever we want with our supplementary credit cards whenever both our parents are not in Singapore. HAHA. Not that our parents wouldn't let us have those stuff if they were in Singapore but it just kind of a cheap thrill! HAHA.

Then I went off the Kuhn's house to have my early birthday dinner =) His mummy cooked my favourite Thai-style tanghoon with huge tiger prawns + pork chops from Tiong Bahru Market + broccoli (my 2nd favourite vegetable)! Then we had my favourite Haagen Daaz ice cream - Salted caramel! Hhahah, it is essentially a get-fat-weekend but I feel super loved =)

12th January 2014 (Sunday)

Had brunch at Wild Honey @ Scotts Square and had my all-time favourite EGGS BENNY WITH PROSCIUTTO. Seriously no other brunch meal can beat a perfect eggs benny! Hollandaise sauce on a poached egg on a bed of sauteed mushrooms and thick toast = HEAVEN.

Then we continued on to my house to have my yearly PPP = Popiah Party! HAHA. Super glad that everyone came though are some people missing from the photo cause they left slightly earlier! We had a crazy time playing Raving Rabbits (as usual!) and the 4-person-coordinated-dance-game (haha I still have no idea what the game is called, just that it's super fun)! I think we kind of have a boy band in the making - see picture of the 4 guys dancing below!

Plus not to forget my lovely presents! Got my pink hairdryer (as requested by me), Capitaland vouchers, Benefit Mascara, a cupcake nail file, a pretty work necklace, a Tiffany & Co. necklace from my mummy, Naked 3 palette from my mummy (for Xmas) and a leather work folder with my name embossed on it from the BF (for Xmas)!

Super love all my presents and what can I say! YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY PRESENTS =D

So my mummy purposely messaged me while she was in Shanghai to say that she got my birthday present. Then my reply to her was "CHINA GOT PRESENT TO BUY MEH". HAAH and apparently she said she knew I was going to reply something like that. AHAH. But she actually got my Tiffany necklace from the SG airport so all is well!

17th January 2014 (Friday)
Spent the day at work and was so tired by the time I reached the boyfriend's house that I crashed into bed for the next half an hour. Was revived enough later to go for a pepper lunch dinner and carry out a little shopping! =)

The wonderful boyfriend surprised me with my 2nd blue box this week! The 1st box being from my mummy =) He got my the infinity bracelet! =)

Then we got back to the boyfriend's house only to be surprised by his family! They got me my only birthday cake this year! =D Feel super loved!

18th January 2014 (Saturday)
Finally managed to find a pretty pair to get! It's my birthday present to myself and I paid for it with my own money! =) It's really a happy and proud thing to be able to get pretty things all by yourself.

Will work very hard for more pretty things =) Happy birthday to me =)

So far so good!

3 days into my working life and I have realized that I'm sort of a workaholic. If I don't exactly have to be anywhere after work, I leave work late and slowly make my way home! Left the office at 9pm today and although I'm sort of tired, it felt oddly therapeutic to be working in the office when it's much more quiet and calm. I suspect that working life is going to suit me well =) So far so good!

Plus my 4th 21st birthday is just round the corner! =) More things to be happy about =)

Ho Ho Ho!

So we started off this jolly season with Christmas Eve dinner with the Leu family at District 10 (UE Square)!

Then we followed up with Christmas Day lunch with the Kuhn family at Muddy Murphy's (Triple One Somerset)!

After lunch I even had popiahs and ham at my counsin's house! Haha, ate way too much these two days! Omnomnoms!

Halloween 2013 ~

26th October 2013 (Saturday) - Halloween

So it was halloween again! As per usual, no one wanted to be part of my pirate gang. HAHA super sad I know. This year, we just went for the disfigured look. Didn't take much pictures that night because we were kind of busy and it's really troublesome to get out of the counter to pose for pictures!

Thinking about it, I thought I would miss the place more than I do now. A lot has changed in that place as have I, but I would always maintain that I grew up over more than 2.5 years that I worked there. No regrets!

Made the mistake of smiling in this photo because that's my first reaction when taking a picture. HAHA. Only after reviewing the picture did I realize how ridiculous I look here.

3rd November 2013 (Sunday) - USS Halloween

It was my 3rd time at USS and Sherry realized that all 3 times that both of us have been to USS were together! HAHA. Plus both USS Halloween outings were with my Zouk colleagues!

So we were going to pose to take a picture when "OWWW", we hit each other's heads. Not our greatest moment.

We convinced Ming Yi to lie on the floor to get his head "chopped" off! HAHA

We remembered to take a picture with the 3 Evil Sisters before we left! Last year, we actually forgot to get a group shot with the master puppeteer! We only realized that days after! HAHA.

One step forward.

Hosted my first dinner party at home without my maid. I guess this is how having dinner parties will feel like when I have my own home in the future and it makes me feel semi-accomplished. I have such happy times when my law friends come over! Haha, still cannot believe how we totally forgot to take any pictures during our Christmas/Tang Yuan party. Oh well! Am expecting a really busy week ahead since it's essentially my last week before I start my full time job! It's really going to be another huge step in life.

See you soon

Back from Perth! Landed in Singapore early Monday morning! Have way to many things to do and way to many people to catch up with. God knows what will happen when I start work on 2nd January 2014. I imagine that I'll be so tired from having a full time job that I'll probably crash on my bed once I get home.

Really enjoyed my Perth trip though I got really crazily hot towards the tail end of our holiday! Pictures up on my next post but are already uploaded on FB! Went to town to grab Christmas presents and well, I must say I am a really efficient shopper! ALL PRESENTS SETTLED. Sephora is really one of my favourite places! Spent almost any hour there and you just feel like you need and want everything in that store! Sephora = make up wonderland! But I resisted and didn't get anything for myself! Such a rare occasion to go into a Sephora and not get anything!

These 2 weeks are essentially my last 2 weeks before it's working life forever! Going to chill my way through them! =) Great start to the week!
